A launchapad is a MIDI (musical-instrument-digital-interface) controller that allows to send messages to a computer when a button is pressed, so the computer can play a sound; the lights are programmed with a software and the light signal is sent back to the launchpad, the device processes it and displays the lights on the pads

As you seen in my recent videos, there are lights displaying on the surface; thats not editing magic, its just a device called Underlights. To learn how to create the device and program it, go to the Tutorials tab on this website and click "Underlights Tutorial"

When you see a launchpad cover, you may notice the gaps between the audio samples, that happens because you can't press the buttons exactly at time; launchpadders like Kaskobi or Vitacity don't fake audio, but they use something called quantization, that allows to move the note values, so the audio is perfectly played. Sometimes I use quantization too, but normally set it to 70%
